This summer school is aimed at postgraduate research students (MSc, MRes, MPhil, PhD), young academics who wish to get seriously involved in pattern recognition and people from industry who wish to apply the technology to real problems. The summer school is fully residential and one week long in duration. It will be held in the beautiful costal city of Plymouth in their latest and modern conference facilities. The venue of the summer school is Portland Square, University of Plymouth. Technical sessions are based on the following themes: - Bayesian Pattern Recognition - Non-parametric Pattern Recognition - Unsupervised Pattern Recognition and Visualisation - Classification and Optimisation - Statistical and Fuzzy Methods The summer school will be taught by a number of eminent scientists, academics and researchers in the area of pattern recognition from academia and industry.
