(i) Classification Society election, for all eligible voters of the Classification Society. (Voting 
deadline January 7, 2009.)
The Society uses a modified Hare system. Voters are checked against the membership 
database, and an an audit trail established. The votes are recorded separately and 
anomously, and integrity is ensured using a unique ballot identifier.  Dave Dubin developed.

(ii) The 2009 Classification Society Annual Meeting will be on June 11–13, 2009 in St. Louis. 
Proposals for invited sessions to Bill Shannon, Washington University School of Medicine, 
wshannon at dom dot wustl dot edu  (Contact Bill now!)

(iii) Annual Distinguished Dissertation Award, for PhD or equivalent doctoral dissertation. 
(Submission deadline: January 1, 2009)
