Dear Colleagues:

You are invited to the Louis Guttman memorial session (the originator of 
Guttman scale, Facet Theory, Smallest Space Analysis and more,  and Past 
president of Psychometric Society)   to  be held in Ritter Hall 211, 
Temple University, Philadelphia, between 13:00-18:00,   August 7th , 2007.


The keynote address speaker will be J. Douglas Carroll who will speak on 
"Multidimensional Scaling and its Extensions: Applications to 
Perceptual, Preferential Choice, and other Behavioral Science Data". 
 Louis Guttman's family, friends, and participants will share memories 
and anecdotes.


At the same session  Dr. Joseph B. Kruskal, the originator of 
multidimensional scaling, will receive the FTA Louis Guttman 
Distinguished Lifetime Contribution Award.

The memorial session is part of the Facet Theory Association (FTA) 
International Conference that will take place 7th - 9th, August, 2007. 
There is a registration fee for participating in the conference; 
however, attending the memorial session is free. Colleagues, who can 
attend, are encouraged to participate and pay tribute to the legacy of 
one of the leading psychometricians of our generation.  For further
