Dear list,

I also followed the MDS discussion with much interest. Nobody mentioned the
MDS code in the free package R (which might be almost the same than in
SPlus), cmdscale for metric and isoMDS for nonmetric MDS (library mva). It
seems to work well and sufficiently fast for 400x400 data. Are there any
critical comments by the experts against these implementations?
