In order to offer the opportunity to those who live far away and cannot travel, the EC-TEL 2022 conference will offer the Keynotes and paper sessions online. Please note that this is only a registration for participants, as authors must register in person. Registrants will receive a zoom link to the various sessions the day before the conference.

Beware that each registered participant can maximally present two research/poster/demo papers (workshops or workshops papers are not included in this count). Prof. Carlos Delgado Kloos
Carlos Delgado Kloos is a Telecommunications Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) and a PhD in Computer Science from the Technical University of Munich. Since 1996 he is Professor of Telematics Engineering at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. In addition, he is currently Vice Rector for Strategy and Digital Education.
His main interest today is in educational technology. He has led more than 20 research projects both at the European level (Esprit, IST, @LIS, eContentPlus), as well as national and bilateral (Spain-Germany and Spain-France). Among them, it should be noted that he has acted as coordinator of the E-LANE project on e-learning, funded by the European Union and that he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the .LRN Consortium an educational platform of code open. He has published more than 200 scientific articles in national and international conferences and magazines. He has also written a book and co-edited another five.
He has held and occupies multiple positions nationally and internationally. In relation to e-learning, it should be noted that he is the Spanish representative in the TC3 committee on education of IFIP. He has been a member of program committees of more than 100 congresses, among which it is worth highlighting the vice-presidency of the Program Committee of the IFIP World Congress of Informatics in 1992 and the presidency of the Program Committee of DATE 2002, Telecom I + D 2003, EduTech2004 and EUNICE2005. He has also been a reviewer for several journals and research programs (at national, European and intercontinental level).
Prof. Roger Azevedo
Roger Azevedo is a Professor in the School of Modeling Simulation and Training at the University of Central Florida. He is also an affiliated faculty in the Departments of Computer Science and Internal Medicine at the University of Central Florida and the lead scientist for the Learning Sciences Faculty Cluster Initiative. He received his PhD in Educational Psychology from McGill University and completed his postdoctoral training in Cognitive Psychology at Carnegie Mellon University. His main research area includes examining the role of cognitive, metacognitive, affective, and motivational self-regulatory processes during learning with advanced learning technologies (e.g., intelligent tutoring systems, hypermedia, multimedia, simulations, serious games, immersive virtual learning environments). More specifically, his overarching research goal is to understand the complex interactions between humans and intelligent learning systems by using interdisciplinary methods to measure cognitive, metacognitive, emotional, motivational, and social processes and their impact on learning, performance, and transfer. To accomplish this goal, he conducts laboratory, classroom, and in-situ (e.g., medical simulator) studies and collects multi-channel data to develop models of human-computer interaction; examines the nature of temporally unfolding self- and other-regulatory processes (e.g., human-human and human-artificial agents); and designs intelligent learning and training systems to detect, track, model, and foster learners, teachers, and trainers' self-regulatory processes. He has published over 300 peer-reviewed papers, chapters, and refereed conference proceedings in the areas of educational, learning, cognitive, educational, and computational sciences. He was the former editor of the Metacognition and Learning journal and serves on the editorial board of several top-tiered learning and cognitive sciences journals (e.g., Applied Cognitive Psychology, International Journal of AI in Education, Educational Psychology Review, European Journal of Psychological Assessment). His research is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), Institute of Education Sciences (IES), National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the Social Sciences and the Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), Natural and Sciences and Engineering Council of Canada (NSERC), Canada Research Chairs (CRC), Canadian Foundation for Innovation (CFI), European Association for Research on Learning and Instruction (EARLI) and the Jacobs Foundation. He is a fellow of the American Psychological Association and the recipient of the prestigious Early Faculty Career Award from the National Science Foundation.

Creating Open Educational Resources with the H5P tool

This workshop is organized into three main parts: in the first part, key concepts of Open Educational Resources (OER) and the H5P tool and its functionalities are going to be introduced. In the second part, participants will explore the H5P tool and create an OER about a given topic. Then, they are going to present their OER and explore how to share and reuse the content created by the other participants. Finally, there will be a discussion on the challenges and difficulties they faced during the practical activity; finally, they will evaluate an OER prototype built with H5P.
Improving the Instrumentation and Feedback for Self-Regulated Learning

One of the central focuses of education is to foster the competency of Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) amongst learners. However, measuring SRL has posed a major challenge to researchers for decades. This workshop provides a forum for interested researchers to examine the current SRL-related work-to-date, and explore how they can build upon existing methods of instrumentation, measurement, analytics and feedback related to SRL.
The workshop is planned to be a full-day hands-on event. In Part 1, participants will have the opportunity to present their own research and practice projects on SRL and discuss how learning analytics can contribute towards the improvement of data collection, analysis and feedback related to SRL. In Part 2, the focus will be on sharing insights on scaffold design and examining types of SRL support that are effective in different learning contexts.
Augmented Reality for teaching Educational Robotics and more (AR4ER)

The topic of this workshop is design and integration of distance learning alternatives for onsite Educational Robotics based on research outcomes of the Erasmus+ eROBSON project. Technological solutions based on Augmented Reality techniques and possible pedagogical scenario's will be presented to workshop participants together with the outcomes of a Group Concept Mapping (GCM) study conducted to support the design process.
Workshop participants will be introduced to GCM methodology, will discuss and evaluate GCM outcomes and will take part in a demo of the working prototypes. Participants will be invited to join reporting of the workshop outcomes to the academic community.
3rd Workshop on Culturally Aware Learning Analytics (CARLA)

Learning analytics (LA) have been implemented in various countries, often at a limited scale. We have also seen that LA have been used in different ways in different countries. This makes the transfer of LA solutions from one country to another challenging, due to varying contextual, technical, and cultural factors. In this workshop, we aim to identify and discuss possible cultural differences and also similarities-the factors that have so far not been extensively studied by LA researchers-for the wider adoption of LA at scale.
Doctoral Education in Technology-Enhanced Learning - DETEL

Technology Enhanced Learning as an interdisciplinary field has many approaches to doctoral education, depending on the country, university, faculty of the PhD candidate among other factors. DETEL Erasmus+ project works on harmonizing and innovating doctoral education in the field, defining a new study program for doctoral education.
In this workshop, we will inform the participants about the state of the work on the program and involve them in a validation the doctoral Technology Enhanced Learning curriculum designed in the DETEL project. We will also demonstrate our platform for community-driven development of educational resources for doctoral candidates.
NUTEL: Nudges and Technology Enhanced Learning

Nudges have been widely studied and used in social science for behavior change. To date, there is a solid body of literature and theory in behavioral and economic sciences around nudging people/users towards desirable behavior changes. Recently, nudges have also been explored by education and cognitive science, with some reference to TEL. The TEL community has explored interventions that can be linked to nudges - hints, prompts, questions, conversations, dashboards, open learner models, open social learner models.
This workshop aims to discuss theories for nudges and learning, technological underpinning, example domains and applications, adoption in practice.

Advances in the fields of wearable sensors, extended reality, artificial intelligence and machine learning make it possible to connect these technologies into integrated learning solutions. The intersection of these fields of emerging technologies is an area of a lot of opportunities for innovative learning systems, but likewise a field of fuzzy expectations. With the second edition of this interdisciplinary workshop we aim to bring together experts and practitioners from technology-enhanced learning and educational application of technologies to collect ideas, requirements, best practices, example cases in the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, Multimodal Systems, Immersive Systems and their application into actual education.
