Dear Classification Researcher:
As you are probably aware mixture model clustering approaches are being used
more and more for classification. Therefore, I thought you might be
interested in this year's Statistical Modeling Week workshops, which will be
held in Boston during the week of October 21-25. Jeroen Vermunt and Jay
Magidson will be presenting a workshop on Latent Class and Finite Mixture
Models. The full schedule is as follows:
Introduction to Segmentation Modeling (October 21)
Jay Magidson & Tony Babinec
Applied Probability Models in Marketing: An Introduction. (October 22)
Peter Fader & Bruce Hardie
Latent Class and Finite Mixture Models (October 23-24)
Jay Magidson & Jeroen Vermunt
Discrete Choice Modeling and Beyond (October 25)
Thomas Eagle & Jeroen Vermunt
FOR COMPLETE CONFERENCE INFORMATION including course descriptions,
registration and hotel information please see the SMW 2002 website at
